Christopher Duigan plays Ludwig van Beethoven in Kloof and ‘Maritzburg

MARITZBURG pianist, Christopher Duigan, will be performing the music of Ludwig van Beethoven at St Agnes Church in Kloof at 7.30 pm on Thursday, October 27 and at the Tatham Art Gallery in Chief Albert Luthuli Street, Pietermaritzburg at 11.30 am on Sunday, October 30.

He will play three sonatas from the canon of Beethoven’s 32 piano sonatas that represent each of these periods: the light-hearted Sonata in F Op 10 No 2, the popular ‘Moonlight’ Sonata Op 27 no 2 and the Sonata in E Op 109. Continue reading

THE Tatham Art Gallery in Chief Albert Luthuli Street, Pietermaritzburg will be hosting a walkabout of the Lorna Peirson exhibition at 10 am for 10.30 am on Friday, September 16.

Liz Speight, from Howick Arts Society, will be conducting a walkabout of the exhibition which consists of paintings, ceramics and a batik made between 1949 and 2015.

Lorna was an active member of HARTS until her death last year. She was well-known in KwaZulu-Natal as an artist, educator and nature lover.

Safe parking with a car guard is provided. The exhibition closes on Sunday, November 2 at 5 pm.
