CABRARET artist, Tonya Koenderman, brings her new one-woman show, Born To Diva, to the Hexagon Dive Theatre at the University of KwaZulu-Natal Pietermaritzburg campus on May 27 and 28 at 7 pm for 7.30 pm (doors open at 6.45 pm).

The show promises to be a musical feast with serial thrillers and gorgeous, slightly revealing costumes. All your old favourites are featured: Tina Turner, Shirley Bassey, Bette Midler, Liza Minnelli, Nina Simone, to name but a few.

In true diva style, Tonya adds her own saucy touch to evergreens: Diamonds are forever, My Baby Just Cares for me, Pata Pata, Special Star, Simply the Best, Nutbush City Limits, Proud Mary, All That Jazz and New York New York.

And, since no diva show would be complete without an opera song, Tonya performs the classic Habanera as only a true opera diva would.

The show has already been to Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth, East London, Cape Town, George, Durban and even Mauritius, and has received standing ovations, and rave reviews.
