Bassist Trevor Donjeany at the Centre for Jazz

The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music at the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Howard College campus will be hosting bassist, Trevor Donjeany, on Wednesday, February 17 at 6 pm.

Trevor was born and educated in Durban. He began playing professionally in 1980. Over the years he has gained a fearsome reputation and is respected as a world-class bassist.

Trevor is in great demand as a player, and has played on International platforms with the likes of: Darius Brubeck, Rene McClean, Richie Cole, Della Reese, Oleta Adams, Patrizzio Buanne, Frankie Vaughn, Joan Faulkner, Morris Nelms, Izio Gross, Kenny Moore, Jerome van Jones, and Dave O’Higgins.

Trevor has performed with most of the local jazz and pop artist in South Africa as well as been involved in numerous studio and television music programmes. He has been bassist with Johhny Clegg for the past eight years and tours the world extensively, as well as performing locally with him and the Johannesburg festival orchestra.

Join Trevor Donjeany (bass), Leon Sharnick (Sax), Donovan Jacob (drums) and  Burton Naidoo (keys) at The Centre for Jazz and Popular music (CJPM), on level 2 of the Shepstone Building at UKZN Howard College Campus.
