POPULAR Cape Town-based guitarist, James Grace, will be performing in three Music Revival concerts in Kloof and Pietermaritzburg this month.
Grace, who recently performed with the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra in Kirstenbosch to more than 7 000 people, will join forces with pianist, Christopher Duigan, for the recitals at the Tatham Art Gallery at 3 pm on Sunday, February 19, Casa Mexicana at 35 Montgomery Road on Tuesday, February 21 and at St Agnes Church in Kloof on Thursday, February 23. MUSIC Revival is closing off the year in a fitting fashion with concerts featuring the talents of ‘Maritzburg pianist, Christopher Duigan, and soprano, Bongiwe Madlala, on Friday, December 29 and Saturday, December 30.

TWO of the shining lights of the South African opera scene – Sibongile Mngoma (soprano) and Sandile Mabaso (tenor) – will be performing in the main hall of the National School of the Arts in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, at 7 pm on July 28.
The duo will be performing arias and duets from the world’s most beautiful operas. Sigongile will be singing arias from Puccini’s La Boheme and Tosca and Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutti; while Sandile will be singing from Massenet’s Manon and Donizetti’s L’elisir d’Amour. They will be accompanied by Marten van Wyk on piano.
