Head down to the Rhumbelow Theatre for ‘Elvis & Me – The Priscilla Story’

DOUG Weich and his eight-piece band, MSG, return to the Rhumbelow Theatre in Durban for Elvis & Me – The Priscilla Story from Friday, August 11 to Sunday, August 20.

The show, which will also be performed at the Rhumbelow Theatre in Pietermaritzburg on September 10, tells Elvis’ as seen through Priscilla’s eyes and gives an insight into the couple’s relationship, from when they first met until the day that Elvis died – August 16, 1977.

Along the way, theatre-goers can enjoy hits ranging from Whole Lot Of Loving to That’s Alright Mama, GI Blues, Blue Suede Shoes, Jailhouse Rock, Heartbreak Hotel, Johnny B Goode and Suspicious Minds.

Weich will be joined on stage by Wade Wight (keyboards and backing vocals), Evan Cullum (piano and backing vocals), Glen Turrell (bass guitar), Andy Turrell (drums), David Knott (lead guitar), Kirsty Madgin (saxophone), and vocalists, Nicky Knott and Sandi Da Cunha.

Showtimes for the Durban run are: 8 pm on August 11 and 12, 2 pm on August 13, 8 pm on August 18 and 19 and 2 pm and 6.30 pm on August 20. In ‘Maritzburg fans can catch the show at 2 pm and 6.30 pm on September 10.

The shows are picnic-style, so bring food but no drinks. There are cash bars at both venues.
