Comics Choice Award-winner, Dillan Olliphant, heading to Durban

Dillan Oliphant is the 2015 and 2016 Comedy Central Roast champion and a Comics Choice Award-winner and he is coming to Durban to address the Oliphant in the Room.

The Eldorado Park funnyman will be bringing his highly acclaimed one-man show to the Durban Jewish Club (DJC) on October 27, 28 and 29.

Dillan has accumulated many comedy accolades in a short space of time but he is probably best known as the stand out act on Trevor Noah’s NationWild DVD.

His deadpan one liners were the highlight of the tour and Dillan was the most talked about act off the DVD where Trevor Noah introduced some of his favourite up and coming comedians.

Fresh-faced and with a fresh approach, Dillan has grown from a novice to making waves nationally in what seems like a few short years. His static stage presence makes his unnervingly clever jokes accessible to everyone and not only makes you laugh but think as well.

As the only young comic in the deadpan game, Dillan is refreshingly without the many “copy and paste” tags associated with young acts still learning their trade.

He was named winner of the ‘Newcomer of the year award’ at the Annual SA Comic’s Choice awards for 2012 and was given the much sought after opening spot in South Africa’s best-selling comedy tour of all time, Trevor Noah’s – That’s Racist.

Away from the stage, Dillan has made appearances on television in L.O.L – a Multichoice commissioned show, Comedy Central Roast and Late Night News with Loyiso Gola on showing he is more than a one-trick pony.
