Well-known Durban comedians Masood Boomgaard and Darren Maule join forces to “pay back the funny” in I’m Chooning You, Ekse! at Sibaya’s iZulu Theatre at 8pm on Friday, September 2.
Masood is known for his humorous, yet hard hitting, views on everything from politics and sport to parenting. In I’m Chooning You, Ekse! he finds the funny in a range of issues that are part and parcel of the lives of everyday South Africans, regardless of race, religion or political affiliation.
At the top of his list is the state of the economy, crime, illegal immigration and the taxi industry. Masood will explain how the worsening rand-dollar exchange rate has sent illegals running back to the border fence, why South Africa is now even too unsafe for criminals, why we soon could have a Pakistani president and why we need to convince taxi drivers that indicators did not go out with Apartheid. He will even touch on “Juju” and his red beret brigade.
Maule needs no introduction to comedy audiences, having performed around the country for many years. He is well known to KwaZulu-Natal as the host of the East Coast Radio breakfast show. Maule promises to have the audience rolling in the aisles with his razor sharp wit and headlines-inspired gags.
Tickets are R120 at Computicket and the Sibaya Box Office. The show carries an age restriction of 13.
