Centre for Visual Arts in Pietermaritzburg hosts Fabric of the Universe installation

HEAD down to the Centre for Visual Arts at the University of KwaZulu-Natal Pietermaritzburg campus to view Fabric of the Universe from August 9 to 11. The event opens at 6.30 pm on August 8 at the Jack Heath Gallery in Ridge Road.

After a fantastic run at the National Arts Festival, the immersive, choreographic, 2016 Standard Bank Ovation Award-winning installation, Fabric of the Universe, is coming home for local residents to enjoy.

Fabric of the Universe is an immersive, tactile, choreographic installation for all ages to enjoy. Conceived by 2015 Aha and Standard Bank Ovation Award-winning choreographer, Lexi Meier, it explores the scale of the human working hand and the joy felt in the physical act of making.

“So,” says Lexi, “come relax. Come sit. Come play, roll, crawl, climb along your own path ways. Come! We have spread our dreams beneath your feet…”

The installation runs from 6.30 pm to 7.05 pm and 8 pm to 8.35 pm on Augsut 9, 10 and 11.

Tickets are R50. Book with Hannah at072 286 3182 or Lexi at079 390 7249 or email lexi.meier66@gmail.com
