THE Loading Bay Gallery in Station Road, Durban is hosting a new exhibition, Under R2000, until June 26. The gallery is next to The Plant and is housed within Con Amore.
Buying art is a very exciting process as it is not just about buying a beautiful object, but akin to relating to something living, where ones responses to a work of art alter daily. Yet costs often hinder one building a collection. Under R2000 is an exhibition which brings the public affordable art by artists of high calibre. There is something for everyone, including paintings, mixed medium, ceramics, printmaking, drawing and sculpture.
Among this diverse group of artists are: Lesley Ireland Mathew, Jeannie Kinsler, Joseph Mañana, Janine Holloway, Deidre Maree, Lee Scott, Terence King, Joan Martin, Grace Kotze, Sam Cross, Ann-Marie Nason, Nikhil Tricam, Anne Reardon, Jane Oliver, Mervyn McMurtry , Nindya Tricam, Sharon Erichsen, Corné Eksteen, Marinda Du Toit, Lara Mellon, Megan Bonnetard, Anne Schwankhart, Babette Noble, Roz Cryer and Diane Van Wyk.
