PHOTOGRAPHERS, Doug Morton, from Pietermaritzburg, and Nola Meiring, from Hilton, have joined forces under the banner of Photo Finesse Africa, and will be staging an exhibition of their work at the beautiful Dunning Country House, on the outskirts of Merrivale, Howick, on Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24.
The exhibition sees the two photographers combining their fields of interest and photographic skills to showcase images of wildlife, flora, still lifes, landscapes and places. Most of these images have been captured in the Midlands and Drakensberg and represent a spectacular visual presentation of the splendour of the countryside, its flora and fauna and its people.
Says Morton: “We have joined photography forces with a view to promoting and selling our work and also to present photography as a legitimate art form. Photography usually takes a back seat to fine art and even crafts, with too many people believing that photography is ‘easy’, involving only the pressing of a little button.
“We’ll have some of our work printed and framed, some as miniature copies, cards and mounted prints, all with the option to order to any size desired by the prospective purchaser. Much of our image stock will be available to view in portfolio files and of course, on line on our respective websites.”
The event is open to the public on both days, and includes a tea garden on both days. There is no entry fee, and secure parking is available at the venue.
