Don’t miss the chance to see Tim Plewman in Rob Becker’s hilarious Defending the Caveman, the longest-running and most successful solo comedy in South African theatre history. The show, which is finally coming to Pietermaritzburg, runs from Wednesday, October 7 to Saturday, October 10 at the Hexagon Theatre on the University of KwaZulu-Natal campus.
Rob Becker’s play is described as an affectionate comedy in two acts about men and women. Tim plays the hero who, anxious to defend the beleaguered male, comes up with a theory that male-female relations are thwarted by their refusal to acknowledge the fact that the female gatherer is almost an entirely different species to the male hunter!
The show has played to packed houses around the world, and still continues to draw in crowds. So how does Becker explain its success? “I think the show gives people a way to understand themselves and their partners while they’re laughing and I think some healing takes place when a couple sits in a darkened theatre, laughing with hundreds of other couples, realising they are not alone.”
This play is a hilarious, affectionate and insightful comedy explaining how and why women and men see life so differently. All booking is through Computicket .
