THE Hilton Arts Festival will be playing host to two Kamishibai performances by the super-talented Jemma Kahn.

Kamishibai, or paper drama, is an ancient Japanese form of street theatre, used for centuries by monks and itinerant storytellers to tell morality tales to a largely illiterate audience. Continue reading

IF you love the magic of classical music, then don’t miss two free concerts at the Hilton Arts Festival in the Hilton College chapel on September 17 and September 18.

Maritzburg pianist Christopher Duigan will perform The Music of Chopin at 10 am on September 17; and guitarists James Grace and Jonathan Crossley, will perform in the second concert, Two Guitars, at 2 pm on September 18. Continue reading

Hilton Arts Festival: Jumping Jiminy – It’s Jongosi!

The 24nd annual Hilton Arts Festival is offering a bumper Jongosi schools arts festival embedded in the main festival, for high schools and primary schools to have a tailor-made package ahead of the main event.

The festival will take place on the beautiful grounds of the Hilton College from September 16 – 18, with Jongosi taking place for one day only – Friday, September 16 for senior primary schools (grades 6 and 7 only) and high schools. Continue reading
