CELEBRATED concert pianist, Christopher Duigan, will be returning to Franschhoek in May to delight classical music fans with a series of concerts at the NG Church, Franschhoek and Cafe Bon Bon.

He will joined by guitarist, James Grace, Tango Ensemble players Stanislav Angelov (accordion) and Petrus de Beer (violin) and the exciting new Juliet Quartet for the concerts which form part of the Franschhoek Literary Festival. Continue reading

ENJOY the music of Chopin at St Michael’s and All Angels Church, Himeville at 7.30 pm on Friday, April 1.

Christopher Duigan plays music by Chopin including the Ballade No 3, waltzes and nocturnes alongside other popular compositions from Scott Joplin, tango and contemporary film music.

Tickets are R100, which includes refreshments at interval. Tickets for the concert, sponsored by Moorcroft Manor and Wedgewood Nougat, can be booked with Rosanne at the church office at 033 702 1013 or 082 359 6736 (mornings only).

THE Steinway Concert Grand Model D piano in the Pietermaritzburg City Hall, which was damaged by rain water dripping from a leak in the city hall roof three years ago, has been fully repaired and will be back in action from 7.30 pm tonight (Saturday, March 19). Continue reading

MARITZBURG pianist, Christopher Duigan, plays a selection of music by two of the greatest Romantic poet virtuosos of the piano, Frederic Chopin and Franz Liszt, at 7.30 pm on Friday, February 26 at 35 Montgomery Drive, Athlone and at the Tatham Art Gallery in Chief Albert Luthuli Street on Sunday, February 28 at 11 am.
