God Gave Me This Life at the Catlina Theatre

Polart Productions’ acclaimed one-hander God Gave Me This Life, written and directed by Vivian Moodley and starring Pranesh Maharaj, returns by popular demand to the Durban stage next month.

Following several sold-out runs when it was done in Hindi as Bhagwan Gave Me This Life, the play will be performed in English at the Catalina Theatre from September 10 to 13.

Performance dates and times: 10 Sept at 7 pm, 11 Sept at 8 pm; 12 and 13 Sept at 2 pm and 6 pm. Tickets at Computicket.

ONE of the plays I am most looking forward to watching at this year’s Hilton Arts Festival is Talking Heads, Alan Bennett’s darkly comic, poignant and uplifting modern theatrical classic. Auditions for a new play to be held in Durban

THERE will be auditions for the new play, Zus en Matilde, written by Theo Fransz and directed by Philisiwe Twijnstra, in Durban this week.

Auditions will take place on September 12 from 2 pm to 5 pm. Requirements are a monologue and a children’s game. Book a slot by emailing your name and time you would like to audition to ptwijnstra@gmail.com

The director is looking for two female actors, who can play teenagers. Actors must be available for rehearsals in September for a performance in October 2015 in Johannesburg. The performance fee, accommodation, SnT and transport is taken care off.
