Young dance artists explore the language of movement in ‘Split Signs’

Split Signs is a double bill performance at the Theatre Arts Admin Collective, based at the Methodist Church Hall on the corner of Milton Road and Wesley Street, Observatory, Cape Town, at 8pm on October 26, 27 and 28, features exciting new work by Julia de Rosenwerth and Adriana Jamisse.

The magic of the Bolshoi Ballet comes to the big screen with Cinema Nouveau

A new season of seven wonderful ballets from Russia’s Bolshoi Ballet company will be screened at Cinema Nouveau theatres over the next six months. The first ballet to be enjoyed on the big screen is The Bright Stream, which releases on Saturday, October 22 for limited screenings. Continue reading

Dance ka Josh, an explosion of dazzling costumes, beautiful music and sensational dance is at The Lyric, Gold Reef City at 7pm on Saturday, September 17 and 3 pm on Sunday, September 18.

Created by choreographer Versha Magan, with support from Douglas Skete, Dance ka Josh is an eclectic mix of Indian classical Kathak, Bollywood, Indian folk, hip-hop, contemporary, jazz, and for the first time ever, ballet. Continue reading
