CURRENTLY showing on Lifetime (DStv channel 131) is the second seaso on UnREAL.

Set against the backdrop of the hit dating competition show Everlasting, UnREAL is led by flawed heroine Rachel Goldberg (Shiri Appleby), a young producer whose sole job is to manipulate her relationships with and among the contestants to get the vital dramatic and outrageous footage that the programme’s dispassionate executive producer, Quinn King (Constance Zimmer), demands.

What ensues is an eye-opening look at what happens in the outrageous world of unscripted television where being a contestant can be vicious and producing it is a whole other reality.

Bernard Hill talks about his role in the gripping drama ‘Unforgotten’

BBC First (DStv channel 119) will be screening the new drama series, Unforgotten, from 8 pm on Wednesday, July 20.

Written and created by Chris Lang (Undeniable, A Mother’s Son, Torn), the series focuses on a ‘cold’ murder case of 39 years ago when the bones of a young man are found beneath the footings of a demolished house.

An investigation begins that will unravel the lives of four people who have been waiting for this moment for nearly forty years. They soon discover the past can’t, and won’t stay buried forever.

The Alliance Française de Durban is hosting ‘French Friday – World of Sport’ at its base in Sutton Crescent, Morningside, from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm on Friday, July 22.

 

 

The evening will start with a general discussion about sports, followed by fun sports quizzes and games to put your knowledge to the test.

Through Positive Eyes exhibition documents the reality of living with HIV

The exhibition, Through Positive Eyes, which features over 100 photographs, sculptural works, and live storytelling, documenting the realities of individuals living with HIV across the globe, can be viewed at the Durban Art Gallery. Double bill of ‘Waiting for Mandela’ at DUT’s Courtyard Theatre

East London-born and Johannesburg-based actor, writer and director Mbasa Tsetsana will be bringing his award-winning production, Waiting for Nelson, to the Courtyard Theatre at the Durban University of Technology’s Department of Drama and Production Studies at 6 pm on Saturday, July 23.

This professional staging will be doubled billed with a student version of Waiting for Nelson under the direction of DUT directing student Sphephelo Dlamini. Continue reading
