FRESH from a successful run at the Hilton Arts Festival, Umhlanga musical director and producer, Nick Wium, will be staging his show, Listen, at the Rhumbelow Theatre at Tina’s Hotel in Kloof at 8 pm on Saturday, October 28 and 2 pm on Sunday, October 29.

Listen is a collaboration between Wium, his Durban band, Shizam, and teenage musical theatre singing sensation, Marianthe Panas.

A power ballad singer, 16-year-old Marianthe’s mature, interpretive singing and incredible vocal range have made her a sought-after performer. Her rendition of the Dream Girls hit song, ‘Listen’ and her soulful  version of Christina Aguilera’s, Burlesque hit, ‘Something’s Got a Hold Of Me’, are among the treats on offer.

She is supported by 18-year-old Bernelee Frick, who delivers a sensual rendition of Cher’s ‘Welcome to Burlesque” and an emotionally stirring ‘You Must Love Me’.

The Shizam band members are drummer, Alwyn Singh; quick-fingered guitarist, Shyane Kistensamy; seasoned and highly-respected bassist, Sebastian Gilchrist; and pianist Nick Wium.

Tickets are R150 (R130 pensioners) at Computicket. Tables seat six.
