VETERAN journalist, William Saunderson-Meyer, whose current affairs column, Jaundiced Eye, appears in several newspapers in South Africa, will be hosting the annual Friends of Tatham Art Gallery (Fotag) quiz evening.
The event will be taking place at 7 pm on Friday, September 8, at the gallery in Chief Albert Luthuli Street, Pietermaritzburg.
Says Fotag spokesman, Christopher Duigan: “We are thrilled to have political columnist William Saunderson-Meyer as our quizmaster. It is certainly a good start for the South Aftican-themed 2017 event!
“Expect ‘Proudly South African’ questions on politics, arts, culture, ‘live music’ and the famous gallery scramble plus a suitably South African selection of curries for dinner.”
Saunderson-Meyer, the managing editor of MedicalBrief, worked for the Rand Daily Mail in South Africa, as well as The Observer and the Financial Times in London and was Visiting Fellow in Journalism at the University of Oxford.
Tickets for the quiz evening are R120 per person, which includes a meal from Café Tatham. Tables seat 10. All money raised will go to help the Tatham Art Gallery purchase new works for the permanent collection.
