NOW in its 12th year, the annual White Mountain Festival in the Southern Drakensberg is the perfect opportunity to get away from it all and enjoy a three-day line-up of some of the best acoustic acts in the country.

Known for its intimate, relaxed atmosphere, the festival, which runs from September 28 to October 1, is held at White Mountain Lodge in the foothills of the Giant’s Castle Nature Reserve.

Included on the bill this year are Luke Lovemore (a top seven finalist on this year’s season of M-Net’s The Voice SA), Crimson House, Jenny & The Jameses, The Sextons, Black Whiskey, The Sweet Resistance, Jerry & The Bandits, Michael Canfield and Freddy Lalendle.

Festival-goers can also look forward to a wide variety of food and drink outlets, colourful arts and crafts, plus loads of outdoor activities for the whole family including fun stuff (like scavenger hunts) for the kids.

Other attractions include the lodge’s spacious grounds, fishable dam, swimming pool and charming old pub (with satellite TV and late-night live music).

Aside from general camping, which is included in the ticket price, there is also the option of booking into a stylish on-site ‘tent hotel’, offering a relaxing, hassle-free camping experience with all the comforts of home.

Tickets are available at Computicket.  For more information, visit www.c-weed.com/wmf or contact 031 563 0824.
