DURBAN ‘Bluesman’ Rusty Red will headline at the Rhumbelow Theatre in Cunningham Avenue, Durban with his sell-out offering Crossroads, a Tribute to Eric Clapton & Friends, from Friday, August 4 to Sunday, August 6.
Featuring the talents of Rusty Red, Chris Melling on drums and Skippy Kubheka on bass guitar, the show will highlight Clapton’s greatest hits from his early days in Cream, The Yardbirds and as a solo artist.
Drawing inspiration from BB King, Jimi Hendrix and Muddy Waters, among other Blues legends, Clapton’s career has spanned more than four decades and has earned him a triple induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
His influence and collaborations have earned him 18 Grammy Awards.
Fans of Clapton’s music can look forward to these local bluesmen performing hits like Before you accuse me, Lay down Sally, Crossroads, Change The World, Pride and Joy, Little Wing, Wonderful tonight, Slow Dancing in a burning room and more.
Showtimes for Crossroads are 8 pm on August 4 and August 5, and 2 pm and 6.30 pm on August 6.
The show is supper theatre-style, so bring food but no drinks. There is a cash bar.
Tickets are R150 (R130 pensioners, and R100 for loyalty card holders on the Friday night). Book at Computicket.
