CAPE Town-based Tune Recreation Committee (TRC), which is fronted by jazz trumpeter, Mandla Mlangeni, will be launching their debut album at The Chairman, 146 Mahatma Gandhi Road, Durban on July 29.
The quintet includes some of Cape Town’s finest young musicians, featuring Clement Benny on drums, Nicholas Williams on bass, Keenan Ahrends on guitar, and Mark Fransman on alto saxophone, flute and accordion.
The ban, which performed to rousing applause in this year’s 18th annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival, takes original tunes and reinvents them.
Embracing everything from the vibrant underground music scene of drum and bass to Balkanology, the TRC deliver something special for music-lovers.
The tour will see them play material from their debut album Voices Of Our Vision which is available for download on iTunes and all major digital music outlets.
