Celebrate music’s one-hit wonders at the Hexagon Dive

DO you remember Carl Perkins, Jeannie C Riley, Kim Carnes, Eddie Holman, The BodyRockers…? No, well join the club. Most people don’t them but they did have a number one hit that rocked the world.

On Friday, December 9, Saturday, December 10, Thursday, December 15, Friday, December 16 and Saturday, December 17, Daniel Rossouw, Katherine McClelland, Sandra Styles, Tammy Calder and Ryan Calder will celebrate these hitmakers in the show One Hit Wonderful at the Hexagon Dive theatre at the University of KwaZulu-Natal Pietermaritzburg.

Directed by Peter Mitchell, the show takes a look at various styles, genres, eras and artists and provides a fabulously relaxed evening of good music and fun.

One Hit Wonderful will feature songs like Lemon Tree, Lollipop, Mamy Blue, Venus, Don’t Worry Be Happy, I Like the Way You Move, Everlasting Love, Eloise, and many more.

The traditional format remains: picnic evenings where patrons bring their own food, but no drinks, as there is a cash bar.

It’s time to kick back, relax and remember some great hits and learn a little about who sang them, dragging them out of obscurity into the spotlight once more.

Doors open at 6.45 pm and the show starts at 7.30 pm.
