South African actor, Sean Cameron Michael, last seen on SA screens in the hit TV series Black Sails on DStv’s History channel, has again nabbed a role in a major American series.

He can be seen in Of Kings and Prophets, currently on M-Net Edge, a biblical drama that centres around a battle-weary king, a powerful and resentful prophet, and a resourceful young shepherd.
Michael plays Nabal in two episodes of the nine-part drama. His co-stars include Maisie Richardson-Sellers (The Originals), Ray Winstone (The Trials of Jimmy Rose) and Olly Rix (The Musketeers) amongst others. The actor was flown from his homebase in Los Angeles to South Africa in December last year to film the ABC TV series.

Episode six of Of Kings and Prophets, which features Sean, will air on M-Net Edge (DSTV channel 102) this Thursday, October 13, at 8pm, while his second episode screens the following week, October 20.

After a building a highly successful career in South Africa over the past 20 years Sean relocated to Hollywood in February last year to pursue his dreams in the international market. In less than two years he broke into the closed Hollywood system and is now beginning to follow in the footsteps of other SA actors who’ve conquered in the immensely competitive arena, such as Charlize Theron and Sharlto Copley.

Local TV viewers can currently see him in Scorpion, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and Of Kings and Prophets, while on the big screen he can be seen in a cameo opposite Anna-Mart van der Merwe in the feature Dis Koue Kos, Skat.

Now permanently based in Los Angeles, Sean recently wrapped playing a recurring role on a new drama series called Shooter, starring Ryan Phillippe and Omar Epps, produced by Mark Wahlberg.  The show premieres on November 15 on the US cable network.

He is currently in South Africa filming an exciting new “grindhouse” action drama series for Syfy and Universal Cable Productions called Blood Drive. Sean plays the recurring role of Old Man Heart in 7 episodes which premieres early 2017.
