Take a journey with ‘LOVE?’ with Blank Canvas Productions

Love

DURBAN-based Blank Canvas Productions will be staging a new show which charts the course of romance – both good and bad – in LOVE?, which can be seen from August 11 to 21 at Seabrooke’s Theatre at Durban High School in Morningside.

Directed by Nkanyiso Yeni, and written by James Jooste -who previously staged the dysfunctional family drama It’s Not Your Fault at the same venue – the play stars Carey Swan as Eliza, Lerato Xaba as Kathryn, Maxim Birch as Will, Casey Milledge as Devon, Bronwyn Botha as Lucy and Richard Scates as Adam.

The story centres on Eliza, a girl who’s just moved from life on a farm to a small town where she becomes a waitress at a quaint café called ‘Bake My Day.’ This poorly run café is owned by Lucy, a not so business savvy 30-year-old, who not only struggles to run the café but also herself.

The café has only one other employee, Kathryn, a sassy, no-nonsense waitress.

Eliza brings with her a sense of change and starts to bring new life to the café. With Eliza comes struggling author, Adam, delusional actor, Devon and Will, a grounded and smart mouthed guy with a heart of gold.

LOVE? offers theatre-goers the chance to experience different stories of romance and tragedy and how they unfold in traditional Rom-Com style.

Showtimes are 7.30pm from Tuesday to Saturday, 2.30 pm on Saturday and 6 pm on Sunday.

Tickets are R100 (concessions R80). Tickets can be booked at https://www.webtickets.co.za/
