Alliance Française Durban to screen the French comedy, ‘9 Month Stretch’

As part of its July Ciné Club, the Alliance Française in Durban will be screening the French comedy, 9 Mois Ferme (9 Month Stretch), at 6 pm on Wednesday, July 13 at Alliance Française de Durban,22 Sutton Crescent, Corner Lilian Ngoyi (Windermere) Road, Morningside. Admission is free and there is a cash bar available.
This movie, which is in French with English subtitles, centres on Ariane Felder, who is pregnant! This is surprising with her being a young hardened judge with strict morals. But what is more surprising is that, according to paternity testing, the child’s father is none other than Bob, a criminal from the prosecution charged with an atrocious attack! Ariane doesn’t remember any of what has happened, so she has no idea what to expect…

Directed by Albert Dupontel, this crowd-pleasing black comedy gets its laughs from cartoonishly puncturing the pomposities of the French legal system.

9 Month Stretch won 2 Cesar Awards, 1 Globes de Cristal Award, 4 Lumiere Awards Nomination, 1 Prix Louis Delluc nomination & 1 Etoiles d’Or.
