Loading Gallery in Durban plays host to two new exhibitions

Own a space invite copy

TWO new exhibitions can be viewed at the Loading Bay Gallery, 15 Station Drive, Durban until July 24.

Own a Space features the work of 11 artists – Deidre Maree, Lara Mellon, Megan Bonnetard, Mervyn McMurtry, Dane Stops, Joan Martin, Karla Nixon, Ann-Marie Nason, Lesley Ireland Mathew, Suraya Tewary and Pam Benporath.

These artists have been given the opportunity to take ownership of a section of Loading Bay Gallery, select their own work and hang is as they deem fit.

Their work includes paper cut outs, oil paintings, mixed medium, pencil drawings, water colours and monoprints. Subjects and styles vary greatly from highly observed representation of portraits to abstract mixed media.

The second exhibition, Four person conversation, features the work of four artists with very distinct styles and techniques – Jeannie Kinsler – oil paintings, Sarah Richards – bronze sculptures, Elizabeth Balcomb – monoprints and Grace Kotze – oil paintings.

The gallery is open from 10 am to 4 om Wednesday to Friday and from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
