The MRP Foundation is celebrating the incredible milestones it has achieved over a ten year journey with an evening of musical celebrations at The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway in Umhlanga on June 20 at 6pm.

As a youth development organisation the MRP Foundation dreams of a South Africa where young people break the cycle of poverty and inequality by unlocking tomorrow’s potential. Since the non-profit started over a decade ago its programmes have impacted and empowered tens of thousands of young people from low income communities within South Africa.

To mark the occasion friends, partners, staff and beneficiaries of the MRP Foundation will be treated to a fun-filled performance by the award-winning band, Gangs of Ballet, accompanied by the inspiring Zilungisele Primary School choir.

Like the evening itself, both performances hold special significance. Gangs of Ballet are MRP Foundation ambassadors and the Zilungisele Primary School choir are part of the MRP Foundation Schools Programme.

“We are so proud to be associated with the MRP Foundation and the incredible work they do with the youth of our country. Their programmes not only foster hope but develop skills for success,” said Josh Klynsmith, one of the members of Gangs of Ballet.

Education is one of the key focuses of the MRP Foundation and for the past five years the MRP Foundation Schools Programme has been implemented in five schools in rural Kwa-Dukuza, KZN, including Zilungisele Primary School, and aims to create a holistic environment in schools where children can identify and unlock and develop their talents.

The MRP Foundation’s second programme, Jump Start, focuses on equipping youth for employment opportunities in the retail sector and its value chain by developing both soft and hard skills. To date over over 10,000 young unemployed matriculants have completed training and over 4000 have found job placements.

Tickets are R200 each. RSVP to Cathy Kinnear on ckinnear@mrpg.com or (031) 310 8599 to book a table. All tickets are on a first come, first serve basis.
