We all know the saying, “two’s company, three’s a crowd”, but the crowds love these three Pretoria guys who have been taking the live music scene by storm! Who Are They? We Are Charlie!

The band recently dropped its brand new single Let’s Stare At The Sun, what seems like bad advice from We Are Charlie makes for an incredible release.

The single, which is available on iTunes, Apple Music and Deezer for fans to download or stream, brings back to life the old school guitar riff driven indie sound that keeps the crowds jumping, whether you’re 13 or 30 years old. Dylan Christie’s raw energetic vocal delivery also gives the single its inevitable appeal.

“‘Don’t have to westernise, what you feel inside…’. Let’s Stare At The Sun is We Are Charlie’s vocal cry against westernisation. Also, I guess you could dance to it,” says front man, Dylan Christie.

Let’s Stare At The Sun is part of We Are Charlie’s brand new EP The Sad Kind Of Happy, which was recorded and produced by Nic Dinnie at Pop Filter Studios and mastered by Jacob van der Westhuizen.

Keeping the dance floor happy since 2014, We Are Charlie is Dylan Christie (Lead vocals/Guitar), Rowan van Eeden (Backing vocals/Bass) and Wesley Reinecke (Drums).

With comparisons to bands such as The Strokes, Cage the Elephant, Kings of Leon and Modest Mouse, these Pretoria boys are creating quite a buzz. The local stages have also seen them share the spotlight with the likes of ISO, Shortstraw, aKing, Al Bairre, December Streets, Desmond & The Tutus and PH FAT.

The band formed in February 2014 and have released two EP’s independently, Open in 2014 and Yard Sale in 2015.
