Golden-voiced Bollywood star, Sunidhi Chauhan, to wow Durban and Joburg


SUNIDHI Chauhan, the songstress with the golden voice is set to wow audiences on April 22 at Westridge Tennis Stadium, Durban and on April 23 at Carnival City Casino and Entertainment World, Johannesburg in series of concerts produced by Golden Jewellers and Imagination Unlimited.

This singing diva will perform hit songs such as Kamariya from Lottery, the Disco Song – Student of the Year, DJ – Hey Bro, Aaja Nachle title track, Babli Badmaash – Shootout at Wadala, Dance Like A Chammiya – Happy New Year, Phatte Tak Nachna – Dolly Ki Doli and Gun Gun Guna – Agneepath.

Twelve-time Filmfare award-winning nominee, Sunidhi is considered to be the most versatile singer of her generation and the voice of Bollywood’s leading heroines such as Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma and Parineeti Chopra has sung over 3 000 songs in various languages including Punjabi, Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Telegu, Tamil, Urdu and of course English where she performed the global hit, Heartbeat, in an international duet with Latin heartthrob Enrique Iglesias.

Sunidhi has recently returned from the Global Citizen Festival in New York where she was introduced by leading Hollywood A-list stars Hugh Jackman and Salma Hayek and performed on stage with the likes of Beyonce, Coldplay, Pearl Jam and Ed Sheeran.

Accompanying her will be the extremely talented Indian Idol Rakesh Maini who will be performing some evergreen hits and classic songs from years gone by. They will be accompanied by a troupe of leading sound engineers and musicians from Bollywood.

Bollywood star, singer, producer and director Farhan Akhtar said:“I am a big Sunidhi fan. I love her voice. She is dynamite on stage”. And Bollywood filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma confessed that, he “truly with all sincerity honestly” thinks that Chauhan is the “greatest singer in the world”.

Opening acts for the Durban concert include Indian Idol finalist Naushad Ali Kawa and the Bollywood Showband. The event in Johannesburg will feature the opening act Avikar Melodies.
