Musical theatre camp for KZN

MTW Camp

Gill Brunings, director of the RSPA Theatre School is ecstatic after the organisation managed to secure a first for KwaZulu-Natal: the MTW – Musical Theatre Camp.

The camp is open to any Grade 6-12 student in KZN who want to spend three intensive days exploring the world of musical theatre guided by international musical theatre professionals.

MTW was founded by Duane Alexander and Anton Luitingh, who together have over 16 professional productions under their belts, both as performers and as directors/choreographers: Cats, Rent, Beauty and the Beast, Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar, Jersey Boys, The Sound of Music and they are both currently on the international tour of Pieter Toerien’s Singin’ in the Rain, showing at Montecasino Teatro until 13 March.

To encourage all KZN young performers to take part RSPA are offering the camp at a superbly discounted rate of only R2300 if you register before February 29 – full payment is not required until April.

The rate includes:

  • 3 days of musical theatre training, vocal coaching, dance coaching and performance training,
  • 5 instructors who will guide and mentor all campers,
  • accommodation,
  • food and beverages,
  • mini presentation on the final camp day,
  • and peace of mind that the camp is facilitated by RSPA, who have proven experience managing/running theatre camps for young performers.
