A NEW exhibition is currently on display in the Blue Caterpillar Gallery at Butterflies for Africa in Willowton Road, Pietermaritzburg. It features work by German-born husband and wife, Maren and Harald Scharein.

This is their first exhibition and although their styles and subject matter are different, it makes an interesting combination for an exhibition.

Maren’s work varies from pointillism to the abstract, which evokes one’s imagination. Harald’s work is slightly stylised as he has worked in designing for both fashion and home fabrics, and also spent a number of years in the navy where he visited many exotic and interesting place which are evident in his work.
