The Kayser String Quartet – featuring Geza Kayser on first violin, Jitske Brien on second violin, Claire Hamilton on viola and Nigel Fish on cello – will be giving a concert in the Tatham Art Gallery in Chief Albert Luthuli Road, Pietermaritzburg at 11 am on Sunday, October 11.
They will be joined by David Smith piano, in a programme featuring Beethoven’s String Quartet Op. 18 No.1, South African-born David Kosviner’s Zorniger Frieden (musica per quartetto d’archi) receiving its first South African performance, and Schumann’s Piano Quintet Op. 44.
A repeat of this concert, which is part of the Friends of Music series, can be heard at the Durban Jewish Centre, 44 KE Masinga (Old Fort) Road, Durban on November 10 at 7.30 pm.
