The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music is hosting a concert by Amanda Tiffin on Tuesday,September 29 at 6 pm.

Amanda has performed extensively as a vocalist and/or pianist in South Africa in numerous jazz venues, concert halls and festivals. She has appeared in London, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and tours regularly as a jazz artist in Japan and Taiwan.

She has recorded four albums, the most recent with her Asia-based jazz trio – the a.s.k trio, and is set to release her latest one, collaboration with saxophonist Shannon Mowday and musicians from Sweden and Norway, in 2015.

Amanda performed with her South African trio at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, 2010, and backed George Benson on the festival in 2011.

She holds a Masters Degree in Jazz Composition & Performance. Amanda is a passionate educator, and regularly conducts workshops and master classes both in South African and abroad. She is head of jazz singing at the College Of Music, University of Cape Town.
