Hilltop Live Africa and Universal Music South Africa, in partnership with 94.7 and MTV announced today, will be hosting two concerts by Carly Rae Jepsen in October. The tour concides with the Grammy Award-nominated, multi-platinum-selling Canadian recording artist’s release of the album E.MO.TION in South Africa.
The Call Me Maybe and I Really Like You singer/songwriter will perform at Grand Arena, GrandWest, Cape Town at 7 pm on October 21 and at the Monument Amphitheatre, Pretoria at 12 noon on October 24.
Tickets for the Cape Town concert range from R450 to R550 and can be booked at Computicket. Tickets for the Pretoria gig are R375 at Computicket.
Carly’s new album, E-MO-TION, is the follow-up to Jepsen’s debut album Kiss, which featured her blockbuster break-out hit Call Me Maybe. The song went to No. 1 on the iTunes Singles charts in over 47 countries and has sold over 17 million singles worldwide to-date. It also earned Jepsen 2012 Grammy nominations for best pop solo performance and song of the year.
Kiss also spawned the follow-up hit Good Time, a duet with Owl City, which has been certified double-platinum.
Carly spent much of 2014 starring in the Broadway production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, earning rave reviews.
The first single released from E-MO-TION, I Really Like You, became a global top 40; and the video, which co-stars Tom Hanks, has racked up more than 85 million Vevo views.
