AFTER working with pupils on a scene from Arthur Miller’s powerful play, The Crucible, drama teacher, Diana Wilson, was so impressed with their efforts she started to think about staging the full play at Epworth School in Pietermaritzburg.

“They did the scene so well and I was so excited about what I was seeing that I thought their would definitely be something in it if we did the play,” Wilson said.

The Epworth girls will be performing alongside a talented group of Hilton College boys in The Crucible, which is being staged in The Haley Hall, from Monday, March 14 to Thursday, March 17 at 7pm. Continue reading →

Think Theatre’s acclaimed production of Othello marks Shakespeare’s 400th anniversary

2016 marks the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare and I am delighted that schools still consider it worth learning the Bard’s work.

Part of that ongoing appeal is being able to see Shakespeare performed live and if your child’s school has not yet booked to see Think Theatre’s critically acclaimed production of the tragedy Othello in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng then I urge you to get them to do so.

It will bring the Bard’s work to vivid life and is the perfect salute to the British playwright, who died on 23 April 1616. Continue reading →

The Bifocals will be providing the live entertainment in the Festival Marquee at the 2015 Hilton Arts Festival at Hilton College on Saturday, September 19 from 12 noon. Join them for some well-known 60s and 70s numbers in the tent and then catch the Bokke on screen for their opening game against Japan, followed by the Hairies in the evening.
