The next production in the National Theatre Live series at Cinema Nouveau is William Shakespeare’s delightful comedy of love and change, As You Like It.

Filmed for cinema broadcast during the live production at the Olivier Theatre in London, the screen version releases on Saturday, March 19 at Cinema Nouveau theatres countrywide for four screenings. Continue reading

IF you love watching the National Theatre Live broadcasts then you can’t afford to miss the latest offering in the series, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, which is being screened at Cinema Nouveau theatres in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town.

Filmed live at the Donmar Warehouse in London there will be four screenings only on Saturday, March 5 at 7.30pm. Sunday, March 6 at 2.30 pm, Wednesday, March 9 at 7.30 pm and Thursday, March 6 at 7.30 pm. Continue reading

Catch the Met Opera’s production of Verdi’s Otello at Cinema Nouveau

The 2015/16 Live in HD season from The Metropolitan Opera in New York returned to South African screens in October. The second opera in the season is a new production of Verdi’s Otello.

It releases at Cinema Nouveau and select Ster-Kinekor cinemas on Saturday, November 14 for a limited season. Conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, this is a new staging by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher of the Verdi masterpiece based on Shakespeare’s tragic drama of jealousy and deceit. Continue reading
