PAMS choir to perform Gounod’s ‘St. Cecilia Mass’ in Pietermaritzburg


THE Pietermaritzburg Amateur Music Society (PAMS) will be presenting an evening of French Music in the concert, Musique Sacrée, at the Lutheran Church in Hayfields at 2.30pm on Sunday, May 21.

Musical director, Nigel Fish, has selected the Messe Solennelle of the 19th century Paris-born Charles Gounod as the main work on the programme. Continue reading

Durban Chamber Choir to present a programme titled ‘The Great Mystery’

The Durban Chamber Choir continues its 2016 series of concerts with a programme intriguingly entitled ‘The Great Mystery’.

Performed under the baton of director, Dr Christopher Cockburn, this event, featuring choral music from the 16th and 21st centuries, is being staged at St Thomas’s Church in Musgrave, Durban, on Sunday, October 30 at 3pm.

The programme will be reprised at the Hayfields Lutheran Church in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday, November 6 at 3pm. Continue reading
