The final concert in the KZN Philharmonic’s 2015 World Symphony Series Spring Season takes place in the Durban City Hall at 7.30 pm on October 22.
Concert-goers can look forward to a performance of Richard Strauss’s lushly scored orchestral tone poem, Death and Transfiguration, followed by Carl Orff’s grand-scale secular cantata, Carmina Burana.
Set to reprise their appearances in the latter work as performed last year, are soprano Beverley Chiat, tenor Nicholas Nicholidis and baritone Njabulo Madlala. The widely acclaimed young Russian conductor Daniel Raiskin will be on the podium.
