MTV (DStv channel 130) today announced world renowned superstar Andrea Bocelli will take to the MTV EMAs stage for the first time ever. Bocelli will perform an unforgettable solo track as well as a unique duet with singer-songwriter Tori Kelly that’s sure to go down in EMA history. The 2015 MTV EMAs will broadcast live across the globe on Sunday, October 25 at 10 pm CAT from the Mediolanum Forum in Milan.
Bocelli’s performance at the 2015 MTV EMAs will follow the global release of his new album Cinema on October 23 on Sugar Music/Universal Music Group.
With over 85 million albums sold worldwide, Bocelli is the most successful classical artist of all time, and has had the honour of performing live for presidents, popes and royal families all over the world.
“I’m pleased and excited to perform at a location and event that is unexpected for me, and to share the overwhelming and contagious energy of so many young people from all around the world. I will be preparing a nice surprise from outside of my usual repertoire together with the beautiful and talented rising star Tori Kelly,” Bocelli said.
Host Ed Sheeran and co-host Ruby Rose will be taking charge of this year’s MTV EMAs. Voting for all award categories is open on mtvema.com until October 24 at 11.59 pm CAT.
The talent list is heating up for what is set to be an explosive edition of the MTV EMAs, with Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheeran & Rudimental, Ellie Goulding, Jason Derulo, twenty one pilots, Martin Garrix, Afrojack, Tori Kelly, James Bay, Jess Glynne and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis previously announced as performers.
