On September 28 and 29, Barungwa Productions will be auditioning for Amandla the Musical. First produced in 1980 by Dr Jonas Gwanga, the protest musical travelled the world communicating the injustices of apartheid and galvanising international solidarity for the ANC liberation movement.The auditions will take place at the South African State Theatre, 301 Church Street, Pretoria from 10 am to 5 pm on September 28 and 10 am to 5 pm on September 29.
Requirements:
- Singers
- Dancers with experience in indigenous South African dance
- Actors
- Musicians able to play indigenous South African instruments;
Special attention will be paid to artist able to sing, dance and act or two of any.Amandla the Musical will be produced by Barungwa Productions, under the leadership of Dr Jonas Gwanga, in partnership with the Music Academy of Gauteng (MAG) and with support from the Department of Arts and Culture (DAC).
Transport via taxi, the Gautrain and bus is readily available and there is fast food options available just outside premises.
