Mzansi Magic’s Clash of the Choirs powered by Metropolitan, returns for a third season in January 2016, and the much-anticipated line-up of choirmasters and venues have been revealed. The auditions are set to take place in seven South African provinces this September and October.

The following weekend (26 – 27 September), Mpumalanga auditions take place at the Protea Hotel in Nelspruit; the Limpopo leg at the Bolivia Lodge in Polokwane; and the KwaZulu-Natal leg at the Durban University of Technology.

On the weekend of 3 – 4 October, auditions will take place in the Eastern Cape at the Fort Hare Audiovisual Centre; at Belmont Square in Cape Town; and at Eunice High School in Bloemfontein.”

This season promises more twists to the gripping format, where for the first time, the seven choirmasters have had to draw from a hat for the province they’ll represent.

The seven choirmasters are: Limpopo’s music king Penny Penny, superstar singer and actress Kelly Khumalo, rapper iFani, producer and performer JR, South Africa’s Queen of House Bucie Nqwiliso, Kalawa Chikita Busiswa Lahla, and KwaZulu-Natal gospel legend Sfiso Ncwane.

The winning choir will win R 1 000 000 in prize money, with an additional R 250 000 being donated to a charity organisation of their choice.

Auditions start promptly at 8 amin each region, and members of the public are urged to arrive early as this year there will be a 4 pmline cutoff.
