Trui Roozeveldt van der Ven’s “In Search of Light”

artSPACE durban is hosting a walkabout of the exhibition “Reflections of Light”, a group show by artists and scientists. The artists will be explaining their works and the scientists will be talking about their field of study.

The walkabout will be followed by a prizegiving for the CAES Prize for the best scientifically inspired artwork 2015. There is a cash prize of R1000 for the winner, sponsored by the College of Agriculture Engineering and Science, at UKZN’s Westville Campus.

Similar to previous events involving scientists and artists, artSPACE durban the exhibition focuses on the fact that 2015 has been declared by the United Nations the International Year of Light. It runs until August 29.

In the Middle Gallery is “The Essence of Trees”, a solo exhibition by Kim Wessels, whose aim is to entice the observer to ‘step inside’ her paintings and sense the sound, smell and feel of a beautiful forest.
