Africa’s highest altitude music festival, Afriski Winter Fest, takes place from August 27 to 30 – so, if you’ve ever dreamed of snowboarding or skiing down a snowy mountain and into an epic music festival featuring some of SA’s hottest artists, then this festival was made for you.

The music festival will include top bands and DJs from around South Africa and will start from Thursday night. Friday night will have some entertainment also but the main day will be Saturday, August 29 with all bands and DJs performing during the day and night.

On the bill are Iscream & The Chocolate Stix and The Kiffness (DJ Set), with Cape Town trio Chris Taylor, Jak Skandi and Viktoria kicking off on the decks. Rising Johannesburg bands The Motherland and The Sextons will entertain with their unique sounds while DJs “Way Back When”, Mehow and Black Sparrow will round off the weekend’s entertainment.

Snowboarding and skiing will be available every day for beginners, intermediate and experts, with loads of fun activities planned including ‘bumboarding’, tubing, paintball and Saturday’s “pond skimming” competition. All of this in the snow and in the sun!

Packages start from R3500 per person. All packages include accommodation, a food and beverage card and weekend music festival pass. Optional extras include ski gear rental, snow pass and ski lessons.
