Enjoy a murder mystery at the Tatham Art Gallery

Friends of the Tatham Art Gallery (FOTAG) present a murder mystery, The Strange Case Of The Freudian Trip on Friday, August 14 at the Tatham Art Gallery in Chief Albert Luthuli Street, Pietermaritzburg.

These popular mystery events starring Annie Robinson and Mark Mulder, and written by Paul Spence,  have entertained  local audiences  over many years at the Hilton Arts Festival and local theatre venues.

As a  FOTAG fundraiser this enjoyable evening offers local audiences a chance to enjoy one of these unique theatrical productions in the beautiful Tatham Art Gallery opposite the City Hall.

Set in the the mid-1950’s  at Misty Ridge College, a famous private boys’ school in the Natal Midlands, there’s another crisis; a much loved master has simply disappeared into thin air…   Audiences will join Seamus Maclear, the unlikely detective, as he attempts to unravel this dark, passionate mystery and unwittingly uncovers the scandalous truth that underlies The Strange Case of the Freudian Trip!

Annie Robinson is a  gifted comedienne and one of South Africa’s most accomplished actresses, while Mark Mulder was last seen in Manhunt, shot in Munich.

The murder mystery is presented  on Friday, August 14 at 6.30 pm for 7.30 pm at the Tatham Art Gallery. Tickets are R125 each and seating is at tables of four or more.

Guests are invited to  ‘bring your own dinner’ but there is a cash bar for fund-raising purposes.  Alternatively order a meal or book for the buffet at Cafe Tatham in the Gallery by calling Rob at 033 342 8327.

Booking for the murder mystery is essential – phone Bryony at the gallery at 033 392 2825 (mornings only) or email chris@fotag.co.za.

Guests are invited to join the fun and dress for a ‘A Natal Midlands Night Out in the 1950s’.  Funds from FOTAG fundraisers go to assist the gallery with the purchase of new art works  for the permanent collection.
