A Woman, A Hat, A Bag, And Her Belly at the Stable Theatre

EBONYGYPSY Arts has partnered with the Bat Centre, the Stable Theatre and the Ethekwini Municipality to stage A Woman, A Hat, A Bag, And Her Belly. Running from August 6 to 9 at the Stable Theatre in Durban, the event promises to be full of fun, laughter and reflection.

Future mums will perform a movement piece and fashion show inside the theatre and the Stable Restaurant will be used to showcase a number of charcoal on canvas pieces titled The Pink Series by Mlamuli Mkhwanazi, who will be exhibiting alongside Nhlakanipho Mkhize (wood cut prints), and Siyasanga Tundzi (jewellery) of Hlubi Creations.

Other attractions include a craft market, with items ranging from fashion to furniture, decor and more, and carnival games and competitions, ranging from musical chairs to arm wrestling matches.

In the evening music fans can enjoy hip hop, jazz and poetry. Poets Luleka Mhlanzi, Thando Fuze, Lungile Khwela and Puseletso Peterson will be joined by jazz songstress and host, Simthandile Mtolo, to deliver enticing melodies under the stars.

Children can get their faces painted, and bounce about in the jumping castle; and there are plenty of exciting give-aways and prizes.

Tickets can be bought from the Stable Theatre. For a detailed programme and more information email ebonygypsyarts@gmail.com or phone 071 240 3591 or 078 860 3168.
