DStv iRock returns to rock Polokwane

South Africa’s top house deejays and live house and hip hop acts will be visiting Polokwane for another jam-packed DStv iRock Limpopo Music Festival. The Polokwane Rugby Fields will once again play host to this exhilarating musical experience on Saturday, September 26, offering the crowd another dose of the best that SA music has to offer.

But that’s not all. The DStv iRock Heritage Edition will feature a whole host of other activities on the weekend: The iRock Warmer at Industrial Chisanyama in Polokwane on Thursday, September 24 from 2 pm; the iRock Pre-party featuring major league DJs at Meropa Casino from 8 pm; and the iRock Exclusive event with Fistaz Mixwell set to heat up Meropa Gardens from 6 pm. Both these pre-parties happen on Friday, September 25.

“The DStv iRock Music Festivals have become the talk of the town in Limpopo, Rustenburg, East London and Port Elizabeth where they’ve been taking place for the past three years. We are proud to bring our viewers and their friends another edition of the homegrown musical excellence they’ve become accustomed to with the DStv iRock Limpopo Music festival,” says Simon Camerer, chief marketing and sales officer at MultiChoice.

Some of the country’s hottest acts will be featured in this year’s festival. The line-up includes familiar favourites Mafikizolo, Beatenberg, Khuli Chana,Ricky Rick and the Big Brother Mzansi runner-up K2, amongst others.

“Because music is such an integral part of the South African culture, the DStv iRock Music Festivals were developed as a way of giving back to our viewers through a musical journey that’s exciting and entertaining. For each instalment we strive to provide the best local musicians on one stage and the line-up in Limpopo is even bigger than ever before. Audiences will be kept entertained every minute of the festival,” says Camerer.
