AT 1 pm Friday, July 24, the three soloists from Gauteng Opera will present a beautiful lunch hour opera concert at the Auto & General Theatre on the Square, Nelson Mandela Square, corner Sandton Drive and Rivonia Road, Sandton.
Khumbuzile Dhlamini (soprano), Phenye Modiane (tenor) and Kagiso Boroko (tenor) will be accompanied by well-known composer and accompanist, Denzil Weale.
Forté will present a beautiful programme of opera arias such as Vainement, ma bien-amée from Le Roi d’Ys, Questa o quella from Rigoletto, Parigi o cara from La Traviata, O mio babbino caro from Gianni Schicchi and not forgetting the all times favourite Neapolitan songs such as Non ti scordar di me, Mattinata and Torna a Surriento. The audience members will also be entertained with a sneak preview of the music of Gauteng Opera’s up-and-coming Cula Mzansi, the opera season with the three short South African operas.
